Municipal Historical Archive of San Marcos: a look at the documentary content of the 20th century in a context of crisis

In the publication of the magazine Scientific Projection second period of the 2020 yearbook of the University Center of San Marcos, the article "Approach to the documentary sources of the Historical Archive of the Municipality of San Marcos and its importance in the different perspectives of historical research ( 1745- 1882)" in which it was made known through the documentary evidence reviewed in a first approach, the research opportunities found in the Historical Archive and the potential of approaching these documents from the different research perspectives in the wonderful process of building the past. In the current study, it is good to make an approach to the historical documentary content, but from material of the 20th century, in this sense, to give continuity to the joint relationship of the documents that the Municipal Archives have reviewed in a second phase (project 2021)2 and the lines of research in history, in turn, making an analysis of the challenges facing our country, the preservation and importance of historical archives as part of the immobilization of historical production in Guatemala , the context of the crisis of the national historical archives and the stagnation of the perspectives of analysis.
