Three years later, is a different higher education possible?

The present research allowed us to know the impact of COVID-19 on higher education in the Agronomy and Medicine careers of the San Marcos University Center (CUSAM). The mandatory physical distancing to mitigate the spread of the disease was not an obstacle to the courses, continuing to maintain teaching, because they reformulated work methodologies. The method used in the research was qualitative; sheets were prepared to record bibliographic, documentary, and hermeneutical information. Among the main results, a relationship between pandemic, confinement, technology, and psychosocial conditions is evident, discovering that the distance educational modality degenerated into operational and functionalist practices, not as a critical, disruptive and creative space in higher education.
